About

Yosemite’s story would not be complete without the artists that have shared their works inspired by this incredible place. Celebrate art in Yosemite through art themed drop-in programs throughout the park and create your own Yosemite-inspired piece with hands-on activities. All programs are free; drop in anytime during the scheduled hours! Art Trail Schedule: Tuolumne Grove Trailhead: Cyanotype Daily, 2 pm – 3 pm Celebrate Carleton Watkins’ historic first photographs of Yosemite, using the force of sunlight to create your own cyanotype from photographic negatives. Yosemite Valley (Welcome Center): Paint Your Travels Daily, 3 pm – 4 pm Create your own watercolor pencil postcard inspired by the works of Constance Gordon-Cumming, travel writer and painter. Tuolumne Meadows (Parsons Memorial Lodge): Watercolor in the Meadows Daily, 10 am – 4 pm Inspired by long-time artist-in-residence Ben Kudo, create a watercolor postcard in Yosemite’s high country. Glacier Point: Early Impressions of Yosemite Daily, 9 am – 3:30 pm Explore a medley of artists and art forms: poetry, sketching from life, stenciling, and techniques in the art of photography.
