This is a moderately strenuous in and out hike which is 8.5 mile long with 2200 ft of elevation gain. We will hike along the Staunton and Rapidan rivers before a steep assent to the Bear Church Rock Vista. Following lunch, we hope to spend some "Water Time" at a selected spot on the river before returning to our cars. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring water, lunch-snack, sun and insect protection and maybe something you don't mind getting wet. If interested in an after-hike rehydration bring a chair, beverage, and maybe a snack to share. Sorry, no dogs for this hike. I will send out an update a few days ahead. Carpooling encouraged as Parking is limited at the Trailhead.
