This will not be a traditional meetup for this group since the venue is not designed for gatherings of more than say 6-8 people at any one table or spot on the property. This will require some mingling among tables on the site! All seating is outside, so if it does rain, we will move our roving band of wine enthusiasts over to Blenheim Vineyards. Tastings are $16, and include complimentary homemade sourdough bread. Local cheese is from Caromont Farm. Outside food is permitted. They are pet friendly. History: Gabriele Rausse is widely recognized as the "Father of the Modern Virginia Wine Industry". Originally from Valdagno, Italy, he moved to Virginia in 1976. Brought over by Italian winemaker Gianni Zonin, Rausse successfully pioneered the cultivation of European Vitis vinifera grapes at Barboursville Vineyards. In 1997, he established his own boutique winery in Albemarle County. Today, alongside his sons Peter and Tim, he produces small-batch, traditionally crafted wines using varietals like Nebbiolo, Grüner Veltliner, and Chasselas Doré.
