White Rock Gap to Sherando Upper Lake **5.2** miles , along the creek OUT and BACK, Elevation gain **646** feet. White Rock Gap Trail extends from Upper Sherando Lake near the campground to the Blue Ridge Parkway. After passing the lake the trail follows the course of Back Creek and heads uphill. There are some small cascades along the creek to stop and admire along the way. **Highlights include enjoyable wooded sections and the soothing sound of running water and few creek crossings.** **Meeting Point: Parking area at White Rock Gap,** **Mile Post 18.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway .** **Sunday August 9th at 8 AM.** **Weather: If plans change due to weather I'll update in the comments section.** **What to Bring/Wear: water, snacks,** **good hiking/ water shoes and hiking poles.** Dog Policy: I am happy to have well behaved pups join - must be on a leash and please pick up after your pet.
