None of the CLNJ core team have decided to go to this yet. Many of us have been to Twin Oaks near there in the past few years and it's very worthwhile to visit this area with a cluster of thriving and innovative communities. Details provided by the organizers below for awareness in case any of our members have an interest: Greetings from the Louisa Communities Gathering Team (spoiler alert, we are not Twin Oaks). You are invited to join us for a donation-based, volunteer-driven, collaborative unconference all about intentional community! This year, since Twin Oaks will not be hosting a Communities Conference, we are creating an alternative gathering over Labor Day weekend. Think of it as a younger sibling of the Communities Conference. The Louisa Communities Gathering will be at Cambia, a freshly re-forming land project in Louisa, VA. We believe that the Communities Conference serves a vital function: creating space to foster connections and level people up in the communities movement. This year we want to provide an alternate container for this function. This gathering will include some vital elements from the TOCC but will be extra scrappy, mostly organized using unconference/open space technology, and hosted in a more rustic environment. Who are we? Our team of organizers is coming together from assorted local intentional communities. We all know and love the Twin Oaks Communities Conference and have provided content and helped organize the TOCC in years past. Collectively we have decades of experience living in community, have visited over 50 intentional communities, and have co-created multiple intentional community projects.
