About
**Come discover your Harrisonburg/Rockingham Writing Community.** Whether you’re scribbling your first poem or plotting your tenth novel, this is your chance to meet and network with other authors. If you’ve been looking for that boost, that community, that connection—you won’t find a better place than the RWG. # Small Publisher or KDP? Have you wondered how to get your book printed? Join us at the Massanutten Regional Library at 6pm on August 5th to learn about your self-publishing options, including print-on-demand, indie presses, local printing, and KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). August’s discussion features Stephanie Gardener, who will talk about her journey using a local printing press for her books, and Judith Dreyer, who will discuss using KDP and a printing press for her publications. **Stephanie Gardner** lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and has strong family roots in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. She holds degrees in history, public history, and library science. Stephanie works as a librarian, archivist, and museum curator. Her first book, *[Rattlesnake Granny](https://rattlesnakegranny.com/)*, was released in 2024. **Judith Dreyer**, MS, is an international author of three non-fiction books, including her latest, *The Gift From Chiron*. With degrees in Nutrition Science and Nursing, she blends science with holistic practices like yoga, Ayurveda, TCM, shamanic dreaming, and archetypes. She taught holistic health studies at the university level for over thirteen years, hosted the *Holistic Nature of Us* podcast, and speaks widely on holistic health and nature connections. She facilitates *The Notebooks* writing club in Bridgewater and is on the board for the RWG. It all happens starting at 6pm on Wednesday, August 5th at the Massanutten Regional Library. **While we meet at the library, the RWG is neither endorsed by, nor affiliated, with the library.**
