Discussion of All Fours by Miranda July A frank novel about a 45 year old artist who, while on a cross country road trip, impulsively checks into a motel near her home, triggering a journey of self-discovery exploring sexuality, marriage, and midlife changes, particularly perimenopause, through an often graphic and boundary-pushing narrative. The book follows her affair with a young man and her attempts to redefine her life and desires. I chose the coffee shop at the Mariner's museum again because it's quiet and has space for us. I'm adding a second meeting mid week, after work, for another option.
