Walk scenic and historic downtown Bedford and "Find the Love" while learning about the slaughter of the Bedford Boys on the Normandy Beaches on D Day, June 6, 1944. There are stunning views of the Peaks of Otter and the National D-Day Memorial. See quaint murals, the Bedford Boys tribute center and the picturesque downtown. Afterwards we will have lunch or a drink. To carpool from Westlake, meet walk host Ron Jones at 8:15 pm in front of New York Pizza, 13314 Booker T Washington Hwy Moneta VA 24121. Ron will be by his car in the parking lot. Or arrive by 8:50 am at the Bedford Welcome Center to register so we can leave at 9 am. The walk cost is $4 to defray admin expenses and for AVA walk credit (correct change appreciated or Zelle).
