For 2026, I will be offering a series of hikes on the AT in the Southern District of Shenandoah National Park. My goal is to help others finish the trail in this area. I will help keep track of the ones you complete and offer hikes again if you miss one. Join me for any or all. This hike will be the loop around Loft: Loft Mountain amphitheater to Ivy Creek Shelter. Approximately 4.5 miles, we will meet at Loft Mountain Wayside at 9:00. We will have a picnic at the shelter. Hot dogs/kielbasa provided. Bring a dish to share. I will drive it to the shelter (no worries about carrying it around). If you don’t want to hike, join us for the picnic at the shelter around 11:30.
