The total padding milage is 33 miles, with 2 nights of camping.** **https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/canoevirginia/items/736491/availability/2100097217/book/?full-items=yes** **Twin river outfitters phone: (540) 254-8012** **# Details** **This three-day paddling trip follows a scenic stretch of the James River, starting below the Glen Wilton Bridge and floating downstream back to the TRO shop. Enjoy camping at private sites along the route. The trip highlights Blue Ridge mountain views, fishing opportunities and flexible timing on the final day since you finish where your car is parked.** **## What's included** **Boat Rental (canoes or kayaks)** **Paddles** **Life Jackets** **Safety Orientation** **River Maps** **Dry Bag Rental** **Water Jugs** **Assigned Campsite at one of our campgrounds** **All required shuttles** **## What's not included** **River Guides (THIS TRIP IS NOT GUIDED)** **Food** **Camping Gear** **## Itinerary** **You should complete liability waivers and payment prior to check in.** **Day 1:** **ALL customers in your party should arrive promptly at the arrival check-in time designated for the trip.** **After check in, you will be issued rental dry bags to pack gear and place it in the shuttle vehicle.** **Once your gear is packed, you will receive a trip orientation complete with a map and river safety briefing.** **You will load into the shuttle vehicle to depart for the river.** **Your group will launch from the Glen Wilton public boat launch and paddle roughly 8 miles to the Gala campground where you will spend your first night.** **Day 2:** **At 17.2 miles this will be your longest day of paddling. Your group will paddle through multiple Class I and II rapids before ending the day at Horseshoe Bend campground.** **Day 3:** **You will push off from camp at Horseshoe Bend and paddle the 8 miles back to Twin River Outfitters. This stretch includes three Class II rapids making for a fun final stretch.** **## Highlights** **Scenic Blue Ridge mountain views** **Miles of current and numerous rapids suitable for loaded canoes** **Private campsites along the river** **Finish at your parked car for flexible final-day timing** **Camping: When you choose, you have 2 options. Bring your own tent OR glamping. The glamping option day 1 almost out. A handful for night 2. LOTS of space for bring your tent. And for an extra $15 a person, they will shuttle your gear to the campsites. You must choose the option at checkout. FINALLY- if you want to glamp, DO NOT choose that option. You must put in the comment that you want to glamp if available. They will contact you for the price difference if available. And help pitch in for a firewood bundle if able- it would be appreciated as we are required to buy a few. I’ll put in for a bundle as well.**
