Free Concert SHEBAD
About
We are thrilled to be able to continue our summer live music series thanks to another three-year grant from The Levitt Family Foundation! The free concert series will be taking place in the grassy lot near Turner Pavilion from July 2 – September 2. SHEBAD is the creative spirit of visual artist and vocalist Claire Voy and multi-instrumentalist Ciccio Spagnolo, bolstered by musicians and collaborators Emil White (sax/keys/vocals), Emmitt Leacock (drums), and Bella Tian (vocals/keys). Hailing from Guelph, Ontario, Canada, their music plays in the realm of Acid Jazz, characterized by fusion rhythms and arrangement, danceable basslines, and transcendent layered vocals. Their sound is a synthesis of influences like Stevie Wonder, Hiatus Kaiyote, Amy Winehouse, Daft Punk, and Erykah Badu, making the music compelling and curious with lyrics from the heart. CBC’s Laila Biali aptly describes their sound as “Music that exists in a sonic world of its own”. The Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series is supported in part by the Levitt Family Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits to strengthen the social fabric of communities in America through free, live music in outdoor public spaces. Presenting high-caliber talent and a broad array of music genres and cultural programming, Levitt concerts are welcoming, inclusive destinations where people of all ages and backgrounds come together. In 2026, the Levitt Family Foundation is supporting over 900 free concerts in 90+ towns and cities across the country, bringing joy to over a million people. In addition to supporting free concerts, the Foundation is dedicated to advancing vibrant music ecosystems through partnerships, field-building initiatives, and research.
