This hike has some nice views with 1,263 in elevation gain. [https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/humpback-mountain-and-humpback-rock](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/humpback-mountain-and-humpback-rock) We will meet at 8:00 AM in the Humpback Rocks Picnic Area (mile post 8.5) along the Blue Ridge Parkway. From here, a connector trail leads to the Appalachian Trail which we will follow north. We will cross over the top of Humpback Mountain before detouring off the AT onto the Humpback Rocks Trail. We will stop at Humpback Rocks for a 10-minute snack then hike back to the Picnic Area. * Leashed dogs are welcome. * Bring lots of water and a snacks * Bug spray and sunscreen are key. * I limit my mountain hikes to 14 with no guests. *How to find us*. It's a bit tricky to find the trailhead. You would be well served to follow the All-Trails directions to the trailhead. If you don't have All Trails, you'll drive into the Picnic Area and follow the loop road down to the right. There are about 10 parking spaces near the trailhead which is down near the bottom of the hill. You will need to park father up the hill if you don't find a spot near the trailhead. *RSVP*.
