**Why do Insects Matter? Join the Sierra Club on Tuesday July 14th at 6:30 at Ellwood Thompson's The Beet Cafe at 4 N Thompson St. Richmond, VA 23221 to learn about bugs!** What role do they play in ecosystems? How can we live alongside them instead of in fear of them? Which bugs matter? From expansion for development to agricultural methods to your yard, it is our job communally to ensure the land we have control over is a habitat suitable for endemic insects. How? Moe Bugs will explain why and how these tiny creatures are so essential to a functional ecosystem, as well as give tips for your own yard! Moe is a recent B.S. Environmental Science graduate from Southern New Hampshire University. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at the University of Richmond focusing on Virginia's resource management. Otherwise Mo spends her time on community outreach and political organizing and spending quality time with the local insect populations. We'll also update on local issues related to data centers, gas plants and the upcoming FOJG speaker series starting in September at Science Museum of Virginia. Hope to see you there! | | | --- | |
